Children's Painting Competition
We have teamed up with the Herts and Essex Observer to launch an Olympics themed art competition.
The competition is open to all children in Bishop's Stortford, Stansted, Dunmow and surrounding areas and will be judged in four age categories (5-8, 9-11, 12-15 and 16-18).
Entries will be assessed on initial impact, artistic impression, interpretation of the subject and use of chosen medium and will be judged by the editor of the Herts & Essex Observer and a local professional artist and tutor.
Prizes
First Prize (In each age category)
The winning entries will be professionally mounted and framed by Richard Williams, In a Frame, Sawbridgeworth
Runner Up (In each age category)
A selection of Daler-Rowney art materials
Overall Winner
An hours one to one painting tuition with a local professional art tutor
All entries will be placed on display at our workshop in Sawbridgeworth and at The Tudor House Studio and Gallery in Sawbridgeworth after the closing date.
Optional professional critique service
Entrants also have the option of receiving a professional critique of their work by a local artist and tutor. This offer is available for £10 which will be donated to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
The competition is launched on Thursday 20th October and closes for receipt of entries on Wednesday 2nd November.
